AssureXR is an innovative, end-to-end system designed to digitalize insurance claim management for property damage by leveraging mobile LiDAR scanning and cutting-edge Web3D technologies. Traditional claim processing often suffers from inefficiencies due to multiple site visits and difficulties in accurately documenting spatial context over time. Commercial solutions often violate the required data protection policies. Developed in collaboration with R+V Versicherung, AssureXR streamlines the entire workflow from initial damage capture to assessment and settlement, addressing key challenges highlighted by industry professionals.

On-site, adjusters use LiDAR-equipped mobile devices like iPhones to capture detailed 3D digital twins, with these 3D models generated directly on the capturing device. Alongside 3D geometry, contextual data like 2D photos, 360° images, and measurements are collected and uploaded via a custom iOS shortcut. AssureXR’s core is its A-Frame web platform, enabling stakeholders to remotely view and interact with the 3D model. Users spatially annotate this model by linking measurements, photos, reports, and comments to specific 3D points, creating a persistent damage record. The platform features in-model digital measurements and WebXR for immersive VR reviews, enhancing remote assessment. This system improves documentation quality, transparency, and claims processing efficiency.
